Whenever an epidemic broke out, people blamed Jews for poisoning the wells...even though they usually died in greater numbers due to their poverty and unsanitary living conditions, imposed upon them by the dominant group (Christians). The were accused of draining the blood from Christian children to use in cult rituals...about as stupid an assertion as there is, even prompting several Popes and Bishops to decry the accusations as base fabrications. Israel, like the CIA reserves the right to engage in clandestine operations, but to think they would have mounted this attack is ridiculous...too sloppy for them...but it's consistent with other such charges throughout history...and the injustice of it is part of the good reason Jews were cornered as they were for 2000 years and why they came back with a vengence.
