You should come to Detroit some time. We "stand up" all the time. Possibly due to the "power in numbers" thing. When I speak of my people I sound like I am bragging...especially when I am speaking to a Jew.
Nahla
: Can't tell. We aren't the most "involved" of people. It's all that victimization and martyr business. We feel we deserve to be slandered and defamed...as we've grown used to being killed and run out of towns and countries...we even take a grim satisfaction from it...as if it proves our devotion to "our" lord, who was also treated to the same, and worse.
: Our people revere decorum and modesty, except they DO brag that the creator of the Universe sits up nights to listen to their maudlin prayers and frets and fusses over them. Other than that they live in fear of "confrontation"...of standing out in a crowd, being pointed to etc. The idea of climbing onto even a junior college stage to "do battle" shakes them to the core...it isn't something for "faint" hearts.
: Can't tell...I hope lots of Jewish people show up though. Obviously they aren't afraid of anything.
