What an enlightening post!
To be honest, I had no idea what your e-mail was, but I remembered that they featured you in Nakosha magazine once, so I went in the archives and found out how to spell your last name. Then, I did an internet search and ... lo and behold I found an e-mail address.
You made many good points, and... I wonder where Ir@qi went also. It's too bad he never gave us any contact information or an e-mail address... seemed like maybe he had a reason to stay anonymous, but I found him to be an insightful person as well.
I have to stop posting at aina... they are really racists/religionists - whatever you want to call them - over there
. I didn't grow up in the middle East, but I do understand how you could feel that way after being forced to wear a headdress, etc... and how you overcame that. You would think that the fools at aina, after living in america for so long would have found muslim friends and realized that all humans are equal!
Tomorrow is Martin Luther King, Jr. day in America... and you know the folks at aina don't appreciate or understand what that means.
I see them like I see members of the community in Detroit... who seem to have that same anti-muslim, anti-arab feeling deep inside... who want nothing more than to be recognized as "Americans"... who will join the Republican party and toe the party line, even if that means supporting things like the Sanctions against Iraq... against our own people!
