: so then, do you think that God = truth... what about His "gifts" to us? when do we know what He gives us?
God is omnipotent and omniscient here, the ultimate creator, and is ultimate truth.
With that, you could look at God as the one and only sacred being in existence (if we're talking to non atheists here). Whatever else he creates can be seen sacred and profane. Regarding humans, we can be seen as sacred in that we are created in God's image, yet we're profane because we'll never achieve the level of holiness God has.
God's gifts are all the things we humans don't tamper with. Lets take the environment as a simple example. God gives our poor pathetic atheth water, we screw it up because we're careless, profane. He gives us air, and we screw that up too. We're willing to poison the air just make a buck. Greed, Mistakes, temptation. Humans fall victim to all that. God can't. All those things make us weak and we ruin every gift God gives us, from the elaborate to the ordinary.
: face it pancho - i'm one of those people you say you "hate" - starts with a "C" & ends in an "hristian" - can't beat it out of me, can you?
Hey Alli, when we're down at the Sleeping Dog Ranch, how about we set ourselves up one of those house churchs that Paul and the first groups of Christians used to worship in. We could set it up in one of the barns...that way, we can hold Fred's horses hostage at carrot-point JUST in case he tries to knock the C-hristianity out of you. But I know that he wouldn't even dream of it because I've got one sharp carrot here. :>
Love,
