Gibran got me kicked out of high school for three days. Refused to do homework, sat staring out the window instead while reading "Broken Wings". Teacher asked why I wasn't doing homework...said I don't "do" homework...he said I had to read an appropriate book...I said I was...he gave me a Nancy Drew book to read...I returned it...spent next three sessions of that class in the Dean's office, reading Gibran. Sent back to class...teacher said I had to mend my ways...I said my ways were just fine. Sent back to Dean...who promptly sent me home for three days where I finished Broken Wings and came back reading another Gibran book. No more trouble from school.
