Thank you for your email. We are well aware of the facts you raise and we
are as equally disturbed.
In regards to your suggestions:
1/ I am not sure about the electronic tagging we would have to give this
some thought and consult with the community on that one. We definitely agree
that detention centres are not the answer. We could look at improving the
processing of Asylum seekers and refugees to ensure that they are processed
much quicker. We do believe that they should be able to send their kids to
school etc.
2/ We absolutely agree that we should be filling our quota, infact we have
been asking for that for some time now.
3/ Responsibility- We also support you on this one as well.
I hope this answers your questions and I will froward this on to Senator
Bartlett who is our immigration spokesperson.
