Addendumb To The Minutes
ACMWWAUA

At an informal gathering of the membership, out back by the world headquarters at Rosie’s Cantina and Comfort Station, it was resolved that this body allow affiliates to join. This new and exciting prospect came about when Chiquita, Conchita and Carmelita, the three best givers of comfort here, asked to join. They were inspired to do this, they said, because our first meeting filled them with awe and fired their zeal. They too want to serve Assyria. It remains to be seen how they can best be of service.

I suggested they form a Women’s Auxilliary to visit the sick and the aged. They liked the idea and said there was a Rest Home for the retired members of their profession on Avenida de la Republica. Next week we’re all going to march on up and take chocolates and flowers to the residents there. They cried when I told them about Assyrian martyrs and said they well knew what it meant to martyr oneself…that they’d been doing it for years and that being down on ones knees was nothing new to them. What a spirit. I tell you it sent shivers of pride down my spine to see how quickly this organization is growing.

No sooner do we form one, than we draft a letter to a very important world leader. Within a week we’ve added a Women’s Auxiliary and all of us are going to perform our first good deed next week. I don’t want to hear any more negative talk about how Assyria is down and out…when we can attract such fine individuals, and all of them honorary Assyrians too, it just makes a Presidente humble and squishy inside.

I just wanted to let the other great organizations in on how we are succeeding over here where there had been no Assyrian organizing before now. We are joined to you by indissoluble ties of Assyrianism and Brotherhood…our achievements are yours and vice versa. Our visit to the Aged Ladies Home will coincide with our next scheduled Planetary Meeting, and I’ll let you know how the old broads are.
