Starting from the principal of the school, many of it's teachers and flowing to the students and parents it was treated
with contempt and indifference.

The last lesson I took was the straw that broke this camel's back.
I'd spent hours at work downloading Wilson Younan's MP3 interviews from www.sbs.com.au and then I burned the interviews on a CD-ROM.
In the computer room I wanted the students to select one of the 60 interviews I had saved and listen to it using the Winamp player.
I then wanted them to use Syriac writing software to fill in the Who? What? Where? When? Why? How? for 5 of the interviews.

It was not to be, the parents had not brought the children on Saturday for Mar Dinkha's birthday song. Now one of the teachers insisted that the students must
practice during my lesson time. With all due respect to Mar Dinkha, I asked the teacher if Mar Dinkha would be attending the shara and was told no.

They took the students and practices a song which their hearts weren't into in order to honor the birthday of a bishop who was half a world away.
Didn't make sense to me.

I will return only when the leadership and teachers learn to respect the language and the school.

If I return I demand that the currently free school must be restructured.

1. We need strong leadership in order to instill a sense of respect.
2. Teachers must be paid for their time and lesson preparartion.
3. Parents must pay in order to appreciate the work we are doing on a weekly basis.

If they can handle these main points then I will return and teach again. But unless these changes are made then we are just wasting our time there and I have other responsibilities and work with the AAS that will be more productive.
