so i've been gone for a few days, thinking (which doesn't come easy) about what the hades people OUGHT to be doing right now, spec. Assyrians & Chaldeans...
can someone, from these groups, start up a think tank (half-naked old men w/ grey beards & diapers on their heads & all), devoted to a good nation-wide (US) PR campaign for the good people of Iraq? it needs money & lots of thought. it ought to be a multi-pronged effort - something with direct & more subversive tactics. & it ought to focus on national TV, mostly, & a bit on radio... this is why we need a think tank of sorts, or some sort of meeting ground where individuals both inside & outside the Chaldean/Assyrian communities can come together & shoot ideas off each others' heads & figure out how to beat the corporations & gov't officials to their punch(es).
as for me, i'm working on establishing some sort of academic clout, since i'm still a spring chicken & i have no money or wisdom, & also on making friends w/ the reasonable white, black, whatever folks down here, so's i can affect their ideas (hey, the media does it, so why can't i? besides, i'm doing it for "good" reasons...).
