: The person in charge of Mediation Services at California Lawyers For The Arts wrote a letter to Atour asking that we resolve the issues between us. She received no reply to the letter or to three messages she left at his house. : We are now forced to contact his supervisors at Ford. Atour initially told me that he had my three sculptures welded at Ford by their technicians, using their equipment. That was before. I held my tongue then for the usual reason...anything to get the project done...but no more. : I expressly told him not to do it, that this was the way I wanted the maquettes to appear from now on. The three he had welded were the first of the new design, and they are no longer my sculptures...Atour and his technicians were the last to touch the surface...I allow NO ONE at any foundry to do what he and Ford did. : I want the three maquettes back, to be melted down, and I want the money back too...the eighteen thousand paid for them, as a partial penalty. The people who will have to return them can take it up with Atour Golani, president of the AANF and Art critic, foundry person, designer etc. : The level of unsophitication in anything dealing with the higher functions of culture and the Arts among our leaders is amazing to contemplate. How dare he take it upon himself to "improve" my design...then spread rumors that the only reason I made the change was so that I could pocket more money. This is what they did to Rabel Schmoel, but much worse. : You don't tamper with a professional artist's designs...you don't add a little paint, a different color to someone's painting, you don't weld together sculpture as you see fit...especially when you don't know your ass from your head, aesthetically. : I realize I am only an Assyrian and as such count for nothing with my own people. But in the outside world where this will play out, Atour's actions are beyond belief...they are also crimminal. He destroyed valuable artworks, tampered with a copyrighted design...and either I sue the bastard or everyone will think they can weld and paint and cut up my sculptures any way they want to. The outside world, and Ford, will know just what to think...if Atour can't figure it out. : I didn't want to take this step, we tried to settle it privately, but he ignored every effort. Let us see what his bosses think about this. : Now he says the work wasn't done at Ford...it was done in his garage by a neighbor. I've seen his garage, there is no welding equipment. Did this neighbor lug the heavy and expensive machinery over from his own house. Why. Who is this neighbor...because he participated in a crime...it is illegal to change the design of an artist's work...illegal as hell. : If it was the neighbor all along, why lie about Ford doing the work...was I supposed to be impressed. And if he lied then, is he telling the truth now. Just when DOES he tell the truth. : If his supervisors at Ford don't respond, then we will file a claim against them. Let Goliath do his worst...a crime is a crime, and such a stupid one shows the man for what he is...short in every way.
