Mexico is fine by me. though some of us may have a harder time crossing the boarder (either time), thanks to the tightened security measures (do they really think any of their terrorists will be caught this way?). can i bring my Assyrian aunt? she loves to travel. someday, she'll accompany me to Lebanon & Iraq, so she can tell me more about her past, which is incredibly intertwined with the histories of both countries.
today, i am contemplating my mediocrity. death, anything is better than mediocrity... heaven forbid that i end up as yet another "soccer mom" driving my SUV all over town to pick up the kids. heaven forbid that i become a reactionary fool because of this fear, too.
look, Life, all ever wanted was to live in a tiny cabin in the woods, play music, & have a few real friends around to talk to. is that too much to ask? well, i suppose it's never too late to join a convent, now is it? sex & drugs, but not rock n' roll, are all old news (though i'm not necessarily going on personal experience). God & His creation never will be, at least to me...
