An Arab in metro-Detroit told me this story...
In Detroit, years ago, probably 20-30 years ago the Arab community had poor leadership in their community organizations. The younger people in the Arab community eventually got sick of their poor leadership and took charge of the situation. Now, they have organizations which get millions each year in government and private funding, and they help thousands and thousands of people. They have job programs, language programs, free hospital services, and of course, lots of arts and dancing/music programs for their young children...
Kuwait hired a PR firm a few years ago. I think it was last year, or two years ago. I was listening to NPR and they said that this program was brought to you buy "The Government of Kuwait: Thanking America for their help
on this nth anniversary of the Persian Gulf War... or something like that. I couldn't believe my ears.
