There is no such thing as a Muslim Assyrian.
+++++How silly that statement is when you step back from it. It's like saying there can't be any such thing as a Muslim American. He presupposes of course that all Assyrians have to be Christians, which then makes it impossible to state, of course, that an Assyrian can be Muslim, or Buddhist or any other religion.
Christian Assyrians have tried to appropriate the entire ethnic identity. And you can see what they've done with it. Here they have been for years saying "WE ARE THE TRUEV ASSYRIANS", and they've been running for fear ever since...ruining what is Assyrians by being so roundly disliked for being Christians.
They have run out of Urmia almost entirely, and can be shown to the door in Iraq any day. Just what goo does it do an Assyrian to be Christian anyway, if in the end they all wind up over here anyway and become American? It seems being Christian was the one sure way to STOP being Assyrian...whgich is where our modern history is leading us to.
And the Muslim Assyrians, by never thumping and humping and talking us all to death about "being the only Assyrians", have kept the country as alive as can be expected under the circumstances. It just goes to show what actions can achieve and how taliking get you only to America, where you stop being Assyrian, if you ever were.
