So? They don't owe you a goddamn thing. Where does it say they have to do anything to please you any more than do the work they do?
Dylan said it best...just because you like my music (or hate it) doesn't mean I owe you a thing.
All I ever asked of Paul...all I ever had a right to expect...without being myself the asshole you say he is...has to do with his taking the risks it takes to do some really fine work whenever he can...whenever he gets the chance. For the rest of it...none of my business.
Auguste Rodin is one of my favorite sculptors yet the man was an asshole to his wife, to Camille and to his one son. I despise the man but love his work.
You are probably a "nice guy"...so what? The Swiss have been "neutral" since the 13th Century, and in all that time managed to give us the cuckoo clock.
See "Somebody Up There Likes Me"...about the life of the boxer Rocky Marciano. Newman gives a stunning performance. We never had television... my kids didn't see first run movies either. They love older films...are able to sit quietly and watch a good story develop...appreciate dialogue and character exposition...not like their MTV rattled cousins who need a murder a minute or they fall asleep. They were mesmerized by that film...hell, they even saw Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" three times and enjoyed the trilogy of Satyajit Ray.
Children are wonderful...their parents tend to be jerks.
