I know quite a few Chaldeans who grew up in the 70s and 80s and took trips with their families back to Iraq. They tell me that it was that trip which really made them fluent in our language, which really made them appreciate our uniqueness...(after all, they grew up in the US and were taken "back home" as young children)... they saw the different sights, had a great time... if only we could do the same.

Your little tidbit about Iraq kind of reminds me of how all my Jewish friends from around here visited Israel at least once, all expenses paid by the local Jewish oragnizations when they were younger...

Well, David and the Aussies seem to be heading back to the motherland. I'll go one day... promise.
