xxx Another horror story: One of my close friends is doing a clinical rotation on the psych wards at a hospital in the States. A girl came in the other day, turned herself in, b/c she was feeling incredibly homicidal, & didn't know if she could control herself. Her boyfriend of so many years had given her HIV, after he fooled around w/ other women. He had KNOWINGLY done so. & this poor young lady - she will have a horrible end when the AIDS starts to show... The docs & my med student friend suggested that, instead of killing the boyfriend, she consider turning him in to the police... & suing the hell out of him. There was nothing psychologically wrong w/ the girl - definitely something wrong w/ her boyfriend. & she's the one blaming herself!
xxx Another good friend of mine just watched a 9 year old child die yesterday from AIDS - he had no parents, b/c both of them had died a years ago from AIDS. My friend says it was horrible watching the boy die... AIDS deaths are worse than cancer deaths, much, much more suffering & misery. The child had never done anything wrong in his life... didn't even have much of one & had never lived outside a hospital...
xxx HIV is everywhere now. It's starting to hit the middle class now... just wait a few years, & this country will have much more to worry about than tyrannts ruling in far off lands.
