Let's go all out...let people like Jackie who do their dirt...who set people up and tear them down in private...then deny any such thing...let's get it ALL out and maybe people will eventually care less about what they look and sound like...what they get people to believe about them...and what they REALLY are. Maybe from now on people will think twice before sending these kinds of "private" letters that do their own kind of extensive damage. These aren't backyard conversations over a fence...or even between people who know each other. These letters are sent to people round the world...people who may or may not bother to check for facts...like Francis Sarguis' mail about Narsai...which we were able to refute...as Jackie went hunting out this guy. Her letters were as damaging, as filled with lies and inaccuracies...were just as likely to have negative reprecussions on someone's livelihood and not just their ability to throw parties.

Hello Jeff,
My name is Jacklin Bejan, and I am the Assyrian Administrator of the
Genocide List which comprises of Assyrians, Armenians and the Greeks.
Admission to this list requires an introduction from you. Nothing
major, but certainly more than your simple interest in joining in. This
list is highly protected and for security reasons we must know a bit
more about all interested parties before I can subscribe them. Please
submit to me the following information:
Full name
Areas of studies and current profession
Membership affiliation to any organization
Why do you want to join the Genocide List??
How do you think you can contribute to bringing recognition to our
Genocide?
Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks again
for your interest.
Regards,
J

Hello Jeff,
Thank you for the fast reply and your introduction. The Genocide List is a
Discussion and on some occasions an Announcement list. We are currently
discussing and rallying support for the House Resolution 398 which is
known as
the "Armenian Genocide" resolution. I don't know if you are familiar
with the
history and current status of this bill, but it will be voted on today,
so it is
at a crucial stage. Our main objective is to bring the Assyrians,
Armenians and
the Greeks closer together. We share the history of the atrocities inflicted
upon us by the Ottoman Turks, yet the Turks and for the most part the
world has
not recognized this first act of genocide of the twentieth century, and the
historical precedent to Hitler's Jewish Holocaust. You are extremely
young, and
I am very pleased to see young Assyrians getting involved in such serious
activism. If your introduction is accepted, I will subscribe you into
the list
after 24 hours. You will receive a welcome letter and instructions. In the
mean while, if you have any other questions or comments please feel free to
write me back.
Cheers,
Jackie

Sweetheart,
Yes you are correct about the Jewish choice of Democrats for potentially our next
V.P.!!! I will send you a disturbing article that will high light his agenda, and we
will see how we will progress from there. Let me just clarify one thing, and that is
the Genocide List in not a political discussion forum. This subject came up, and many
started to show high emotions in describing their likes and dislikes. It can get
pretty ugly as I am sure you have witnessed in the past. For Assyrians especially two
things are very emotional. First their church and then their politics!! :) Armenians
have many PACs, and so do Greeks. Unfortunately Assyrians do not have any. The
Chaldean PAC was established a few years ago, and Joseph Kassab was one of the founders
and active members. But unfortunately that kind of fizzled out, and now they are not
active at all. A very strong PAC (political action committee) can make things really
rock and roll for us. Imagine a Assyrian National PAC with 1000 members who donate
$100 per year. Do you know what kind of lobby and political influence you can buy for
$100,000 in D.C.??? The answer is a lot :) Of course this is an internal matter to us
Assyrians, and one that I am pursuing separate from the Genocide issue. Wait until I
subscribe you, and then you will be in the loop of many discussions. Thanks again
akhoonah soora :))

Jeff,
Take a deep breath, and don't let yourself get caught in the severity of
our people's devastation. Since the loss of our empire we have been at
the mercy of one foreigner or another. It is a long hard battle, but
one that we can only win with intelligence and patience. Always
remember that over 95% of our people will follow the top 5% thinkers and
planners. That is true with most societies, so let us maintain our
focus, help our people as much as we can so that they will not leave our
homeland, and think strategically for our future survival and
independence. There are only a few of us, and we can't be every where
and fight all the battles. Take it easy, O.K.. I know you are upset,
but let us try and do our best. I received the news about the Chaldean
families early this morning, and I must have exchanged over 30 e-mails
on trying to see who we can contact to get them some help. I have a
call into Congresswoman Anna Eshoo's office. She knows me very well,
and I expect that she would be able to offer some sort of assistance.
Take care, and I hope you will always remain passionate about your
people and our cause.

Hello darling,
So you're pouting at me, ha?? :) You have every right to do so. Just
don't think that I have not been reading your e-mails, as they are as
precious as your young mind is to me. I have been buried with work and
business trips that are absolutely draining my energy. On top of that I
send and receive over 100 e-mails a day, which is enough to drive
anybody up the wall!! I have a half drafted e-mail in my "un-sent"
folder to you, which I promise I will finish and send soon. I got to
run, as I have to go to a board meeting at the Assyrian association in
about 10 minutes, but I will talk to you very very soon. I promise.
Hugs and kisses,
Jackie
P.S. I remember you had asked my age in one of your e-mails, and I had
meant to write to you about it. I am 37 years old, and I have two boys,
an 11 year old and a 4 year old. I live in San Jose, California. I am
a finance graduate and I am currently the CFO and the controller of a
manufacturing company that makes "Bulk Delivery systems for Chemicals",
used primarily in semiconductor and chip industry. Now, if you ever come
to San Jose, you know you have a home! :)

Hello Jeff,
Hope all is well with you, and you are keeping yourself pretty busy with
school and all you other activities. You are pretty fascinating young
man, and I am so very proud of you. Jeff, I just wanted to quickly let
you know, that I am the only Assyrian administrator on the Genocide
List, and you need to funnel all your requests for changes through me,
and not anyone else. I keep a pretty detailed track of all Assyrian
correspondence on the list, and you have to help me maintain that
protocol.
How are you doing with your pre election activities. Are you managing
to register a lot of Assyrian Chaldeans? We need to develop a block of
powerful voters in a very near future, if we want to get anywhere in
this country, as I am sure you know that already. Take good care.

Where have you been hiding all this time Jeff Atto??? You have so much
to be
proud of, and I just can't tell you how proud that makes me feel. The
likes of you are
the answer to the prayer of our "Oomta", and don't you forget that.
Bravo to you and the volunteers for doing such a superb job at
registering
voters. Pretty soon our block can be kicking some royal butt in
elections!!!
:) The only way we can get the attention of these American politicians
is by
delivering large blocks of votes and money, and I have no doubt in the
near
future we can deliver both. Just the same way the Armenians are doing
it.
Jeff, don't get intimidated by the titles that some of our members
have. Some
only have the titles, but no passion or drive to do anything. You can
out do them any time of day, I assure you. We just have to learn to
stick with each other.
Jeff, I know the volume of mail that is generated from our Genocide List
is overwhelming, but I also hope that you have noticed how our name
"Assyrians" is being mentioned right along Armenians and Greeks in all
the letters that are being written to major media sources by some of the
members. That is an accomplishment by itself, and one that we need to
emphasize on. I will change your title to:
Jeff Atto, Assyrian Chaldean activist
Hopefully you won't feel naked anymore my young warrior brother! :))
Hugs & kisses,
Jackie
(Note: This email was sent in response to a request that I made to have
a "title" on the Genocide list because everyone else seemed to have one,
and my title was just my name...not that there's anything wrong with my
name...)

Yes Jeff, that is the whole idea. Now as the Assyrian administrator, I
need to
reply to both Gabriele and Jermankyan's comments for they will be
waiting for
that. I regret that Gabriele chose to write in that style, but as a
European
and a non-English speaking person, she is not trained to write
politically
correct essays, especially to such a diverse group. The Armenians are
very
possessive of the Genocide, and rightfully so. They have worked their
tails
off for the past 55 years, while we have been in total state of
unconsciousness
and deep sleep. They look at us Assyrians, and think who are they and
what can
they possibly offer this cause?? The answer is nothing right now. But
we must
organize our own people, the Chaldeans, Suryoyo, the followers of Church
of the
East and ........... to unite, so that we can deliver the necessary
strength,
money and votes to the cause, here and in Europe.
This list is our first try at coming together, and disagreements are
natural,
but we can not afford to alienate one group for the sake of our own
ego. I
can't expect everyone else to feel sorry for me and include me in their
cause,
if I don't wake up to my own responsibilities. Thanks for your
conviction and
belief in solidarity. I am hoping in the near future I would be able to
make
some contacts with the Chaldeans of Detroit on this issue of Genocide,
and I
would be counting on your help. Thanks again sweetheart.

Darling,
Thank you for your immediate reply. I will contact Atour Golani tomorrow
morning about what we can do in Detroit, and will for sure mobilize all we can
around U.S.. Don't worry about the G-List for right now, as this is not a
priority for us. We are light years behind the Armenians, and can not expect to
produce scholars over night. In a very near future Dr. Gabriele Yonan's first
book in English "The Assyrian Genocide" will be published (another project I'm
working on!), and that would be our first substantial work in the field of
Genocide. She is almost done with the second book "The new light on the
Assyrian Genocide", which should hopefully get translated and published by early
2002. It is all a matter to time, consistence, and education, but we will get
there soon. Be patient sweetheart. I will dispatch another e-mail to everyone
with more instructions, and we will take it from there. Thank you very much for
your willingness. This is indeed the best thing we can do to show that when
one part of body is in pain, the entire body suffers. It does not matte what we
call ourselves; Assyrian, Chaldean or Suryoyo. We are all parts of the same
body :)

Jeff aziza,
Please don't worry about Fred, as you know I am very strict when it
comes to the Genocide List. You have seen me warm our people when I
thought things were getting out of hand. I am the senior administrator,
and can easily remove people. Fred is a good person, if you only get to
know him. Just remember that when they killed our people, they did not
care which church they belonged to. They killed them all, so that alone
should keep us unified.
About the conference, please be very selective about people that you are
inviting. We don't need a big crowd as the space is very limited and I
do not want to create any problems for Paul which I have been carefully
nursing a relationship with. Select 5 people that can represent our
nation. This is not a chaldean or Assyrian or Suryoyo issue, so be
careful on the representation. Keep me informed, and send me your list,
so that I can give Paul a heads up on who would be there from our side.
Jeff, I have worked for over a year at carefully building this bridge.
We can not afford to compromise our new friendly alliance with the
Armenians and the Greeks. Do your best to try and maintain neutral
grounds, as I trust you will do a fine job. Thanks again, and stay in
touch.
Hugs,
J

Hello sweetheart,
Hope that all is well with you and school. I sincerely share your
concerns about the sanctions, and only wished that we had a little more
time than 3 or 4 days to organize it. It is important for us to take a
very pro-active role in voicing our concern to the new administration,
and I think the collective Assyrian society should start to focus on
this issue more seriously. Personally I am not aware of any organized
agenda or activities by Assyrians/Chaldeans or by their respective
Federations. Can you please clue me in on this one?? Just remember
that before we can go to the Armenians and Greeks, we have to organize
ourselves, so that we can offer leadership and guidance, and not look
confused and foolish. As far as the upcoming Armenian/Greek/Assyrian
cooperation conference, please give me a list of attendees with their
titles so that I can pass it on. I will wait to hear back from you.
Take care.

Hello aziza,
Thank you for the report. I'm glad you enjoyed the exercise, and welcome to
the world of politics :) It is quite fascinating when you know how to play
it, and you play it smart, otherwise you will be nothing but another
bankrupt Assyrian "politician". One suggestion that I would have for you,
and I hope you will take it from your older sister, is not to over expand
your resources at CARE. One small organization can not encompass all the
needs that a large community has, otherwise you will set yourself up for
failure and disappointments. You must try and recruit more interested
people, or you will burn out very soon. Life is not constant, and you in
your young age will be facing great many other priorities. Make yourself
dispensable, so your work and organization won't collapse. I will call
Atour tomorrow to get a report from him. Paul and I are exchanging
information on a regular base, and he is thrilled that I am half Armenian.
I think it makes him trust me more!!! Keep up the good work, and I will be
funneling more interesting meetings your way soon. I have discovered a
professor at University of Michigan who has written extensively on the
Assyrian Genocide, and I may come out to see him. Thanks again for taking
the time out of your weekend, and please extend my gratitude to the rest of
your group as well.

O.K. young man, what are you doing up at this hour???? Get some sleep,
so you can enjoy your Sunday.
The crooked groups seems to be the story of our lives, and they are
every where, but the good ones always prevail, so with that in mind,
and with people like you and Martin there, I am sure it is in safe
hands. I just can't believe that with almost 80-90 thousand Chaldeans
in Detroit, there are so few worthy organizations!!
Good, keep replenishing the pool with young educated minds, and you will
continue to grow. Again, from experience I will advise you against over
expansion. You can not possibly become an umbrella for all your
community need. The trick will be to start new organizations that can
fulfill some of the needs, and nurture them in the right direction.
Yes I am half Armenian. My father was born in Uremia, Iran, and my
mother in Abadan, Iran. I was born in Kuwait, and lived there until I
was 6 years old. My family then moved back to Iran, and after just five
years, we came to U.S. when I was 11. I speak Armenian as fluently as I
speak Assyrian, because we always spoke both languages at home. I
still can only speak Armenian to my mother, as speaking in Assyrian to
her seems very odd :)
I'll let you know when I'm coming out, and rest assure that the only
time we will enter a constructive dialogue with the Armenians and the
Greeks is when we are organized. The Armenians are the most organized,
but the Greeks?? Boy, they are really screwed up. There are almost one
million Greeks in U.S., but politically and socially speaking, they are
in worse shape than we are. They have no political agenda, and most of
their people are completely dis-engaged from the Greek issues and
cause. This is their biggest challenge in U.S.......... We can talk
about this later. I better get some sleep now.

J

Hello darling,
It was a trip to remember all right :)) My plane was delayed leaving
from San Jose, and that made me miss my connection in Phoenix. When I
finally got to Detroit airport, Atour was no where to be found, so I had
to catch a taxi for $50 and go to a roach motel called the Ramda Inn,
owned by Sam Yono. I almost had a full heart attack when I walked
inside, and sure enough Firas, his wife, Sam Shapira and his wife were
also feeling the same. We finally managed to find a clean Holiday Inn,
and then went to Al laphandi (spelling??) for dinner. Everything was
good, except my beef was bleeding to death, and it made me sick :(( On
top of that, I still had to finish my convention report, which meant I
had to get up at 5:00 a.m. to finish the 5 page detailed report for the
Federation meeting. Without eating any breakfast, I had to rush back to
Sam Yono's roach motel for the Federation meeting. Sure enough it was a
disaster, with the usual bull shit, and especially hearing the mess with
last year's convention in Chicago (it's a long story). At a little
after 5:00 I had to leave for the airport, which again was delayed
leaving Detroit. I finally got home at after mid night Sunday, and
promised never to repeat this experience.
Instead of wasting my time at the meeting, I should have come to where
you folks were, and at least could have helped
out............................
Now tell me, how was the food drive?? Tell me about the poor families,
and the overall situation of our people in Detroit. I can't believe we
have people who depend on food bags from CARE. How many families would
you estimate to be living like this? and look at us fighting over our
stupid names............... What a shame. Give me any kind of
information you have. Maybe we can all pitch in and help out.
Take care aziza,
J

Shlama Jeff,

I don't mind you sharing it with Martin, but I don't want to publicize
this. I appreciated Sam's gesture and the offer to put us up at a
discounted rate, but it simply did not suit me and the kind of places
that I'm used to staying. I travel for business and leisure all the
time, and I am very picky about the kind of mattress and sheets that I
sleep on and the kind of smells that I have to tolerate :)) I am sure it
resembled the Chaldean Federation's meeting, if you have ever attended
one. I understand that the CF has a new president, and Sam is no longer
the president. I heard a lot about the dirty politics being played with
the elections, but then what else is new???
I am very proud of you and the CARE group, and yes, I think it is very
sad that our people don't realize the poverty level amongst our own
people. I was sharing what you were doing with some of my friends last
Sunday, and they all said the same thing, "What are you talking about,
there are no poor Chaldeans. They all have liquor and grocery stores,
and they have plenty of money!!!" It is heart breaking that most of us
don't even know the reality. Education is our only hope, and I hope that
you (CARE) will take the time to inform us all about the harsh realities
of life for some of our own people. If we could only pull our resources
and help each other out..........................
Take care Jeff,
J

Shlama aziza,
Hope all is well with you. I visited the site couple of days ago, but
truly regret that I can't get involved with the discussion regarding
"Our People's Main Problems" at this time. Between work, husband, two
boys, the presidency of Assyrian American Association of San Jose,
Assyrian National Convention 2001, Genocide List, Genocide Action List
and the Summuramat monument I hardly have any time left to scratch my
butt......... Hope you'll forgive me this time :))
Hugs,
J

Hi Jeff,
Hope all is well with you. I'm sorry about not getting back to you any
earlier...... I am absolutely buried under the pressure of the convention,
and my mother's upcoming surgery, so I have not been following the G-List
that closely, and don't expect to do that until after September.
We are working on bringing the monument here, and would like to pursue
that, but the city government is very bureaucratic and it will take a while
before we know for sure. Take care.
