We will come to regret the foolish figure weīre going to cut as we go forth and repeat the nonsense the clergy poured in our ear. Right now it gives us great satisfaction to have any mention at all made of us in the media and to see ourselves quoted is more than we ever hoped for...but it will come back to haunt us. So much the better for the rest of us...go ahead Carlo and Wm Warda...hang your asses out there...and weīll take great delight in kicking them for you in public. We canīt maintain in all seriousness to the rest of the world that all Assyrians turned Christian and only Christian...and that we get to decide who is and isnīt a real Assyrian...based on his or her Christian affiliation.
We shouldnīt but we will...hell weīll rush eagerly to do it thereby making life more miserable for the rest of us back home. But you know how we get off on "talking about it a lot".
It sounds innocent enough among ourselves, even sounds "right" and true. It isnīt. No modern nation can exist for long if it uses religion as a basis for determining nationality...neither can one segment set up their own criteria for being members of the nation, based on their own religious preferences. A nation in basements and Bingo Halls can do and say whatever it wants to...can arrest and throw anyone out...can ban and delete what irks it.
This will become increasingly evident to our brighter bulbs, while the usual dimwits you couldnīt light up with an atom bomb anyway. Itīs just that their foolishness will be internationally broadcast...but maybe thatīs the best way to put this nonsense to rest once and for all.
Oh well...it gives no satisfaction to know that people will come to regard our experts and hysterians as so many addlepated fools who couldnīt be bothered with reading a book they didnīt like...or harboring a thought that didnīt originate in some clergy person still wowed over what a goatherd said 2000 years ago.
Hopefully by then other Assyrians will have been encouraged to come back into this kindergarten where the heroes are still in their National Diapers.
