Shoshan is the ancient Syriac word for Lily, a beautiful flower that grew in ancient Mesopotamia. The ancient Assyrians would of course apply the name to their girls. When the British first discovered our people during the 1800s they took the name back with them and began calling their girls Susan as well.
Meanwhile Susa is the name of the ancient capital of the kingdom of the Elamites. It was from here that the famnous Iranian horses were firstc discovered and purchased by the Assyrians and probably the same reason why the Syriac name Susa is still used today to refer to a horse.
Have no idea about the King though. Need more info.
