Germany & Japan?

I keep hearing people argue that the U.S. will try to implement something similar in Iraq as was implemented in post-war Germany & Japan. So, I have a question: how accurate is it to even begin to describe Iraq in terms similar to post-war Germany or Japan??? Let's think about post-war Germany & Japan - both were states known for incredibly nationalist tendencies... how much *internal* turmoil was there, even after WWII? Now compare that with Iraq - how much internal turmoil was there before this "war" & now after? The point I'm trying to make is that post-war Iraq is VERY different from post-war Germany or Japan. Germany & Japan were easier to control, "unify" again, & thus "democratize," than Iraq will be after WWII *because* they'd already been "unified" under another cause, before WWII. What does anyone else think?
