Operation Iraqi Freedom - freedom to do what? Work under contract for a U.S. business. & honestly, I'm tempted to believe that what the U.S. government would like to see, esp. those devout Republican economists, is that those in Iraq who are unfit for work die. Those *made* unfit for work by the hunger & disease that have plagued Iraq for so many years. That's why they don't care so much about the health care system.
Taking away the OFF & forcing all Iraqis, even the sick & handicapped, to find work, OR ELSE, is like giving someone with SARS 2 days sick leave & threatening to fire that sick person if that person is not able to make it into work on time the day after sick leave. It will take that person, symbolic of suffering Iraqis, longer to recover to a healthy, fully functional state. Removing a crutch would just be another shock to the systems of Iraqis still struggling with the aftermath of the sanctions & 2 devastating wars.
Again, just my opinion. : )
