The Closing the Gap dinner will be held June 24, 2003 at the Detroit Opera House.
The 2003 Closing the Gap Honorees are:

This commitment is demonstrated through their "Children First" series, Summer Dreams funding, the YAK Corner newspaper section for young readers and several efforts to expose young people to opportunities in journalism.
* Chaldean Americans Reaching and Encouraging (CARE), in the area of Race Relations and Cultural Collaboration. CARE, a group of Chaldean university students and professionals volunteer within the African American and Jewish communities in an effort to build cultural collaboration between Chaldeans and other ethnic communities. CARE volunteers also provide tutoring, mentoring and sessions regarding Chaldean culture in area schools.
