I was trying to explain how the neutrons in an atom can be used to detect the neutrino pathways across the surface of the nucleus, and when the energy from the neutrino heats the neutrons up slightly, it is unnoticable to the manade instruments we use to examine them, but indeed causes the mass of a neutron to increase, caused by the transfer of heat from the neutrino to the neutron. Hard to imagine this happens, since a neutrino is supposedly massless, yet it has energy, and therfore mass, because of its high speed, in turn creating a flow of heat.
