: : most of our epics, history, lost Civilization and our lost culture has been told and kept from generations to next generations around camp fires, Why the hell you changed that great name to sadie(eventhough it's the name of one of the most famos persian poet)

: xxx I know, I know.... & those are the English translations of my mother's maiden name & father's last name in their respective languages, too.... I think I changed from "campfire hero" to my real name because Fred didn't like that anyone would call herself a hero, then changed from my real name to fake names again because I wanted a bit of anonymity.... & I chose Sadie (Say-dee) because Sadie was my great grandmother's name (who was from Midyat originally & moved to Basra right before WWI).

: About Sadie (what I just learned from a cousin of mine - 1st cousin of my father - at a wedding last weekend): Sadie had blue eyes & blonde hair, & helped my great grandfather, Baba Shemo, raise orphaned Syriani children (who escaped from Midyat during WWI) in Basra - they had their own children, too, one of which was my grandfather, & they raised their own children to accept the orphaned children as their own brothers and sisters. Baba Shemo was a wealthy merchant & priest when he moved to Basra, & he bought a big house, the former home of a political figure, to keep all his children in. Bedouin traders traveling up the coast of the peninsula would pass through their house right before they went into the heart of Basra to sell their wares. My great grandmother Sadie would open the big doors to the house & buy raw silks, spices, & other materials, & the 18 girls she took care of would sit & sew clothing with her during the days. One day, when Mama Sadie & Baba Shemo went to visit friends, 14 of the girls from their home were stolen. Sadie & Shemo searched everywhere for the girls, but couldn't find them. However, my dad's cousin has conducted some searches of her own, & it turns out that these girls were taken in by wealthy families & later converted to Islam & became wives for some prominent families in the Arabian peninsula....

that's a great history , why don't you collect all those and save them may some day come handy for the Assyrian historians who are trying to write about our recent history.
