I'm the kind of girl who feels most comfortable in pants. Once, I wore a friend of mine's tuxedo (he's the same height as me & very skinny) on stage to play violin in a concert (my hair was pulled back in a tight bun & I had brick-red lipstick on with a bit of blush to give my face more color). The overall effect was that I looked like a guy in dress, but had a female face with very dramatic features. You know how many people complimented me after that? Guys & girls seemed to love the fact that I was dressed in a man's outfit while I was playing in an otherwise all male ensemble, completely confident in my natural femininity.... & that's just a reflection of my attitude in general, though - confidence in a non-sexual way. In fact, I even used to wear (in undergrad) my dad's old khakis & dress shirts - it looked good - the pants would be a bit loose (but not too loose) & casual & the shirts would serve as loose cover-ups that paired nicely with a choker, birkenstocks, & a bit of make-up.
