I think the song would be OK if the whole album wasn't like that.... Maybe a song about something besides herself? A song with lyrics expressing a social conscience? It just sounds so damned narcissistic after a while.... & I think that there has to be a balance between concern for oneself & other beings - if there is no balance, too much concern for one or the other is suicide. & perhaps that's why she sings about needing to come to life - she's dead on the inside because she's either too absorbed in herself. Does this make sense?
