Isn't it ironic that the U.S. spend over 300 billion dollars each year to protect its foreign policies. Whereas, when it comes to domestic policies the U.S. policy makers, (doesn't matter who is occupying the White House) tend to spend the minimum for domestic agendas and U.S. citizens.

I promise, you will come up with your individual list the money spend on the U.S. arm machines can be used domestically to make life better in the U.S. and the world.

Why we don't do it???

: : I drank enormously: quantities of alcohol, which had no discernable effect, except to calm me a little. I couldn't sleep at all without pills (and even then I woke at the slightest noise--I would say, "If an ant coughs, it wakes me.") I didn't like taking pills because I was scared to go to sleep.

: xxx One doesn't have to be previously attacked to feel nervous about sleeping in the city. Hearing this woman's story & knowing that these things happen A LOT in the States, too, is enough to make any woman nervous. & it's not just men of a certain race who attack women in their homes - any strange man can turn into a weirdo, & the amount of physical abuse the average husband dishes out to his wife in this country is shockingly high. I was lucky that there was none of that in my parents' household. Anyway, for a long time after I moved here, I had a hard time going to sleep, too, with that rapist on the prowl. A glass of wine was necessary to make me relax (& I keep my alcohol tolerance low so that that's all it takes). A glass of red wine is better for one's health than any sleeping pill. The only place I *ever* feel completely comfortable sleeping is my parents' house out in the country, where 3 large dogs are constantly guarding their home. My babies could rip any stranger to shreds. : )
