: Dear Sadie:
: One year ago I have met Polish man born in Polish
: city Kielce. He has said: I am Assyrian. He has told me about this song. For one year I have made research to find the words. Today by pure exifent I have found only those on Netscap under Asyria, Asyria.
: I belive Assyrians after the fall of Assyrian Empire has come to Poland, too. They were dreaming about their Homeland so they were singing about Assyria.
xxx That's really interesting! If you find out more about this, will you tell us? I think it'd be really interesting to have a website dedicated to documenting the history of Assyrians outside of the Middle East. On another note, recently, I went to a local museum here in Nashville to see one of the main exhibits, art of the Ottoman Empire. There was NO mention of the genocide at all or who the original Anatolians were, even though they called their artwork "Anatolian".... Not that these things have to be mentioned every time, but it would be nice for the Turks to acknowledge that there were a LOT of inhabitants in Anatolia who did not identify themselves as Turks during the time of the Ottoman Empire.
