If nothing else, my viewpoint should provide some humor for this Forum. I mean, we can't live without some humor now and then, can we? Now what could be more humorous than to entertain ourselves with the banter of a village idiot, like myself? Some of our best comedians imitate them, so there must be something to say for this technique. Now, to answer the question you posed to me:

I wouldn't say it's "THE PROBLEM." It is one of many problems, the underlying root cause of which remains illusive (at least to an idiot like me). Every system in the world is dragging it own garbage behind itself. If you want to rid the world of these evils then we all must learn to live without a system insofar as that may be possible. I don't care whether you have a Republican, Democrat, Socialist, Libertarian or any other partisan heading our system, the problems and the evils will remain and continue to increase. As long as the world remains polarized five billion ways to Sunday, the human race will be plagued by its purely human condition. The only way I can think of to eradicate this systemic problem is to reduce the population to "one." Now that wouldn't be very practical would it? Therefore, our only option is not to eliminate, but reduce as much as possible these evils. It is my personal view, and I am probably totally wrong about this, that under this imperfect, relatively free, pluralistic, multi-faceted experimental system we live under (in America) you will find warts on all of the various political groups. None of them will ever be squeaky clean or free of selfish interests or lust for power. That is why we can never, ever be content to trust just one group unopposed by any other group. We must take whatever good we can from all of them. At the same time we, the citizens of this society, must always be in control of the reins of power and willing to die to keep them in our hands. We must all remain vigilant and united in our effort to demand the best from all of our leaders and keep them all on a short leash, regardless of their affiliations. Furthermore, our leaders should regard themselves as selfless, servants of the people, not as royalty or a higher caste. This should be the first prerequisite to hold office. Too much power is concentrated in the hands of the wealthy and those who control the legal system and also, the corporate structure in this country. That must change. I don't know how, but future generations will have to wrestle with this problem or else this country is doomed. And there you have it, in a nutshell, the mad ravings of the Village Idiot.
