Poor Peter...he was so offended to be giving his little book of poems away...and even at there few takers...while over the way the object of his derision was selling sculptures for thousands of dollars...to ASSYRIANS. Since that day he's not been the same jackass...a different one...but not the same.
Can you see in his gripe the reason we have such awful representations of our Heritage and why we chase people fully qualified to do us proud away...to keep a Peter writing this crap...because he won't take money for it...when he can't GET money for it.
It isn't to be rich and eat out and travel that we artists charge money for our work. One reason is that people value it more...not the ones who buy it necessarily but those who hear about...which is a lot more people than buy...and can only do us good. The other is that our income is uncertain. Peter plays the part of a lap dog...he barks and heels and his boss pays him. We on the famous other hand never know where the next sale will come from so any "extra" we get...that's what Peter would call anything above $1.99...helps us survive the lean times...which are a lot more frequent than the sales he gets so pushed out of ahpe over.
And besides...you know it's just envy...that most shitty of all "Assyrian" traits...he'd like nothing more than to have people standing in line to buy his poetry...instead of running in the other direction when he roams the lobby.
