xxx & that's just the Assyrians - the Armenians lost 1.5 million people & the Greeks lost 400,000 people to the Turkish massacres.... So, a lot of people were killed in this act of genocide, & to this day the Turkish government has not officially acknowledged it - it actively suppresses any media/educational coverage of the genocide which was inspiration for the likes of Hitler. I'm not saying that this is something that needs to be used against the Turks or the Kurds, but acknowledgement would mean a LOT to the people, or even the descendents of those people, who were forced to endure so much hardship & to watch their loved ones die so cruelly at that time.
