: ^^^^How about if you accused someone of embezzelement, Is that slander?

+++Not if you can prove it. If that person wants to sue you for slandering him he had better be able to withstand scrutiny. If I call you a creep...and can prove you are...how have I slandered you? The truth may be an unpleasant one...but by definition it can't be slander to tell the truth.

If someone says I beg for assitance for my family by appearing at her front door, and she put groceries in a bag for me because I needed help taking care of my family...and she has no way of proving it, and I can prove she said and wrote such things to people with whom I was trying to develop a working relationship for a BUSINESS project that depended on their having a certain level of trust and confidence in me...the kind of thing such a "beggar" couldn't have...and that these things never happened...then THAT is slander...and not just because my "feelings" got hurt...but because my BUSINESS was hurt...I lost MONEY...which is exactly what Nimrod and Bejan tried to achieve in their letters to Detroit telling people the "truth" about me.

You suppose if Jackie found I had written letters to her company's customers telling them that Jackie came to my door asking for the products that she needed to sell to them because her own company really can't make anything worthwhile itself...and this was not true...and she could show that sales to this company dropped off soon after...that she wouldn't sue me in a minute??? She sues for nothing in half that time...what do you think?
