: So you met him at the Chicago convention? Hmm, I was there too. I went to very few of the talks--don't think I remember you. Are you a young guy, mid 20s or so, from Sweden?
yep, that's me... but not from Sweden. I am from Amsterdam.
: Assyrian politics....the neverending topic.
have you ever been to a place in this world where there is no politics?
:I grew up with my father talking Assyrian politics..It died down a lot before I left home and that's probably a good thing considering it cost him a lot of frustration, time, and unappreciated effort among other things.
The same counts for my brothers. They established the first assyrian association in Holland and they started a movement in this small country that pisses of the bishop untill this day :-) .... now they are disappointed and have not one good word for any assyrian organization. :-)
Yesterday I showed my brother the statues of King Kong Parhad here, and he was so delighted... I am looking forward to the day I can buy one of those Hammurabi statues for my own. Ssstt... don't tell Parhad this, tammam. :-)
I asked your father about his young days in Baghdad and the Assyrian Culture Club. And paid him back with some info about assyrian representatives in Cuba during the World Socialist gathering some years ago.
: It is a rare day when my dad talks in a soft voice :) hehehe JK. I'll pay close attention next time, but I would never think to make that comparision.
have to run,
shlome to Malfono from me,
Matay
