They say the time to worry about a shark is when his fin disappears.
Everyhting is planned...everything has its time and place..there is a season for all things. First I had to get Jackie to sue me...suing Jeff was a bonus I didn't count on...didn't think her lawyer would make that much of a misstep.
I don't have a grudge against these people...just last week I spoke with Nimrod and I could spend a pleasant evening with Jackie or Janey any time...even bounce Atour on my knee.
It's business...not personal. That's something we haven't figured out yet. They couldn't bother me...but they've created a very destructive precedent...one guaranteed to lose us every full-witted Assyrians who might want to work within our Heritage, in the Arts or in any serious way...ever again.
When I started out 20 years ago it was all a big question mark..."how will Assyrians will respond positively, how will their leadership respond, how will the establishment in this country respond.
The establishment has accorded us every courtesy, so we know how that will trun out in the future...if we do good work, we stand a good chance of being supported.
Assyrians themselves have spent a good amount of their money buying fairly priced bronzes for their homes and children and for their own sense of self...so we know if an Assyrian artist in the future decides to do something similar...he or she will be supported by a significant portion of our community.
We also know now what our leadership will do if any artist in the future refuses to submit to the humiliations they dream up because they are envious of the artist's success and the fact that by definition to BE an artist in the first place means you have an innate inability to tolerate these sorts of leaders. We will know, at the trial, the kinds of things these leaders will do to discourage any meaningful challenge to their mediocrity...and we will understand exactly where the problem has been, and what we can do about it.
For my part, I have to do everything I can to make sure they fail in their efforts to break me and drive me away...for the future generations...like Ashurhaddon would have wanted me to...like he did.
The church would rather I fell and broke my neck...by accident of course.
