Let's start backwards...lets roam the world no looking for budding genocides and holocausts and blights and the rendering of whole generations and populations into zombies...not dead, but not alive either...after that let's work our way backward and set the past right.

One advantage would be that we would be far more likely to admit what we once all did...if we could admit what we are doing right now.
