Oh, don't quote me on that statistic... I have to find it somewhere, to back it up - it's hard to find these statistics b/c the majority of Americans don't care about these things enough to want them publicized, or the gov't doesn't care to do anything about it in a serious way. BUT there is definitely an increase in violence/crime against Asians & Asian Americans on VJ Day in Rhode Island, where it is made into a state holiday.
