I remember the argument that Saddam was going to march on to Saudi Arabia...all you had to do was say it...and people believed it...because we need to find EVIL...that's the only way we know we must be GOOD. On our own...without Islam, we'd have a hard time explaining to the world and our own people just why we think we are the "Good Guys".
But, if you identify EVIL...and it's "over there"...you're done...you don't have to explain yourself...or explain or defend a thing. People will keep focused on the Evil...be looking out for EVIL...keep their minds pre-ocupied with the EVIL over there...and by contrast...your side will just HAVE to be GOOD!
After all...can there ONLY be EVIL in the world???
