I love the promise of America and the few times it has risen magnificently to the ocassion. The proof is that for all the United States government has done to people of color...those same people have forgiven it, for the sake of the people of America. We are a naive bunch...we forget easily, we get collective amnesia...we are immature and goofy...at some point though we have to take responsibility for our acts...I am ashamed, not proud, of what this country has done to people of color around the world and at home...and trying to scare them into whitewashing their souls is just more of the same violence.
I don't believe for a second that Islam is evil or that the men who lost their lives and murdered so many were simply insane and hell bent on destruction out of ENVY! They were desperate...but someone has been attacking people of color the world over since the first white men appeared on this continent...and to the everlasting credit and sorrow of the Darkies they encountered here...the Natives took them in, taught them to survive, helped them...and in return had their lives ruined.
America has much to make amends for...and they're trying to avoid paying the bill. The attacks a year ago...in return for all the attacks those people have suffered over many years...were a down payment on the bill...long overdue. It's up to us if we want to do the right thing...because when your foe is THAT determined and that desperate...there ain't mothin' you can do brother...this will be Bush's ultimate gift to us...insecurity like we've never known...though we are about the most insecure people on earth...with the greatest self-doubt and without a clue as to what is really important, what matters, and who we are...besides addlepated consumers who think we can buy our way to heaven.
Hell our own children aren't safe in their beds any longer...
