I went to see Lina again on Friday. She wasn't good. Lina had just been released from ICU the previous day. Her liver and her kidney weren't working properly because of the chemotherapy. Her white blood cell count is good so the transplant was a success, but it's the chemo that's messing up her body.
I had never seen her look so bad. Everytime I went to see her she was bright and cheery. Friday she really looked like a suffering cancer patient. She didnt' have anything covering her head so you could see her bald head. Lina was so yellow. Her lip had a huge bloody blister on it. Her arms had huge bruises all over them. While we were there, the nurse came in and gave her a shot of platelets (which she is very low on) right in her bruised arm. Lina was crying in pain. We didn't stay long at all. Lina didn't need to have guests at that time. I had asked the nurse about Lina's condition. Believe it or not, she said that Lina looked great. She said that her condition had improved a great deal since she was in ICU. So hopefully she's on the road to improvement.

Lina's platelet count was very low. Would you know if the blood clotting that is caused by the low count causing the bruising on her arms?
