I wouldn't call it conspiracy theory "nonsense", really. Yes, the US and the "west" are very open and free, but if you just look at how many warning signs there were, and how many times the government's "special agents" and such turned a blind eye, it makes you wonder why they did that.

Could it be that they are trying to make this open, western, free society into something less? If that is the case, then the "terrorists" have won.
