: I just wanted to interrupt them and shake their hands, all of them, and thank them. Thank them for not being afraid to go out in public and be themselves... they were proud of who they were and they weren't about to sacrifice anything for the mass hysteria and hate crimes that were going around (especially in Michigan) after Sept. 11. Ah, missed opportunities.....
+++ If you were really about thanking them for such behaviour, you seem to be in very need of stabilization and support in order to prevent you from slipping down into the said hysteria..
+++ Please heed:
That is not meant to be an insult!
Only as a sober description.
+++ Honestly, I was very worried about the fact that after 9-11 the ADC was fielding everywhere squads and posts for counselling and supporting the members of their Arab community (with special kid programmes etc) while the Assyrian camp absolutely denied itself any opportunity to confess and identify their vulnerability (despite a church arson, you will remember) thus missing also any chance of emotional stabilisation, consolation and healing.
+++ Maybe that holds true only for the Assyrians and I hope the Chaldeans are performing any better.
+++ Anyway: Keep your ears pricked.
A German blessing for you:
May the challenge steel your heart!
