: ++++And that, boys and germs...is just what we suffer from...part time prima donnas lamenting the lack of a social life, so get out there and MIX some more...get your priorities straight.
xxx My "social life" is different from what you think it is, I think. To me, a social life is to:
1.) get some friends to go out w/ me to the seediest places in town & watch people, see how other people live, understand these people better
2.) go hiking w/ a bunch of friends
3.) go listen to quality music or see some art exhibits w/ my friends
4.) discuss societal issues w/ my politically aware friends who live here.
xxx Right now, I spend so much time in front of the computer that I think it is unhealthy. I like to read things, of course, but life is about more than reading - to me it is about *thinking*. & I want my thinking to be influenced by life experience, b/c I feel that it makes the abstract more tangible.
xxx I have no time for pointless parties or business meetings. I have time for *living* & stepping away from the computer to understand the complexities of the environment that surrounds me.
xxx I never get bored - only more intrigued... which is something that has also happened w/ my experience interacting w/ the people who visit this board... However, this interest can make me so intensely focused that I become forgetful of my overall health needs & start to grow in only one way - in fact, I often forget to eat & sleep becomes secondary to my new interest. Like I said before: I love complexity, but sometimes this love can be too focused in one direction & very unhealthy. This is my problem. Balance is key to my health.
