In them old and hairy days you had a chance of winning some treaure and territory in a war. There hasn't been any treasure in wars for a long time. Not from other people's treasuries at least.
When you have a trough filled with as much treasure as the United States has, debts and all (because you can borrow on U.S assets just like the IMF gets leaders elsewhere to do)...you have a treasure chest like none other...certainly like none a third world country has to offer.
You need perpetual war to raid THIS country's treasury, not some country half way round the world. We consume ourselves now...rob and kill ourselves...we have no enemy but what we create in order to give some plausible cover to those who attack OUR treasury. That's where the money is.
We've been paying Israel for years to have a "second front" constantly boiling...one that's certain to produce "targets" for the U.S. Targets that allow our "protectors" to raid our treasury and pay themselves.
