They did a story on Iraq... they are there, you know. They covered quite a few topics... the iraqi film industry is now non-existent because they can't develop their film. As a result, live comedies are all the rage. The most popular one pokes fun at their miserable lives under the sanctions. What a resilient people. Apparently the Muslims flock to the Armenian orthodox church in old baghdad... they revere the virgin mary and the interviewer asked the Muslims why they were there: They explained that the Virgin Mary has an extreme importance in Islam. They even said "Christians and Muslims are the same people to us... we see no difference." Then they interviewed a Chaldean who owns a liquor store. He explained that drinking is one outlet for the people's misery, and that, as a Christian, he has a special license to sell liquor that Muslims cannot have... talk about your reverse discrimination.
I'll go take a bathey now.
