This is the last paragraph in a grumbling, rambling post about what everyone ought to do about anything....

We are Assyrians, no one can change that; the Greeks, Romans, Parthians, Sassanids, Arabs, Mongols, Tartars, and Ottoman Turks could not take that away from us. Assyrians (including Chaldeans, Nestorians, and Jacobites) need time to gather the lost pieces. With a correct history curriculum in a free democratic Iraq, our children will read Assyrians' true history and they will realize who they are. With education, we will defeat this disease of ignorance that is dividing us; our future generations will get over these mishaps, misunderstandings, and mistakes. Let us give the Assyrians of Iraq that chance.

+++I'd say we WERE Assyrians...we're Christians now...and yes I know it's a religion...except we've made it into everything...like religion and culture USED to be. True Assyrian history would be intolerable to Christians...so there's little chance of that happening. I'm afraid ZOWAA and the rest are facing marginalization and to avoid being discarded like the toilet paper they were, are trying to find some" victory" for themselves. This business about our language being taught to Muslims is absured...wishful thinking. If they're going to lie...why not a whopper with cheese?

The only role we have to play is collaborator...like the Levies...that's all. We may be allowed a brief moment in the sun here or there...depending on how actively the US runs things and makes a show of us. But in the end we'll pay again for this latest in a long list of treachery and deceit...mostly wounding ourselves. It's just a matter of time...and again.
