I heard Terri Gross interview journalists from Texas who have been following G Dubya's political career. Apparently in 1994, Shrup and his mom were having a discussion 'bout religion, and his mom expressed to him her personal belief that those who do not believe in Jesus, but who lead moral lives, can still go to heaven. Young G W didn't agree with his mammy, so they called Billy Graham. (I'm not joking). Billy Graham told them that "we can't know whether or not a person who doesn't believe in Jesus is damned to hell", but GW was insistent. You see, he's born again, and he believes that unless you have a personal relationship with God/Jesus, then you are doomed to hell. The most powerful man on the face of the Earth... Anyway, I just wanted to share this with y'all to brighten your day. --------------------- |
