Just why do Jews take such an interest in Assyriology? Just posing the question implies they do and that there's something odd or even wrong about Jews being interested in Assyriology or that they have an inordinate interest...an unhealthy or suspicious one. That isn't the case of course. Jews take an interest in everything...in French history...in the Renaissance...in the history of mathematics, they have produced more great minds in far greater proportion to their numbers than anyone else in the modern era EVER, especially considering they were being chased from pillar to post in all that time...so let's be carefull with the simplifications. Perhaps the question, put that way, only has meaning to Assyrians who might wonder why so many more Jews than ANY Assyrians, to speak of, take an interest in Assyriology.

In most other disciplines one can't imply Jews have anything to gain by being "prejudiced"...or any particular slant they add because "they're Jews"...though no one can blame them for putting a favorable angle to anything that refers to them...considering how Christians have turned the Universe upside down to slander them for 2000 years. But in the area of Assyriology it's a bit different. In the first place Assyrians, real ones, weren't only decidedly UN-Christian...in any dogmatic sense...but were also not likely to ever become Christians...without their assholes first blowing up too...and besides that, we Assyrians brought enlightenment and soap to those sons of goats. Everyone in the ancient world took pity on those people and tried to improve their lot. We hardly ever needed a thing they had to offer...Yahwe least of all. Hell we had no use for Abraham either. So why then might Jews "not like" or seek to define Assyrians..besides envy of course?

I think Jews and Christians are tied together, however unwillingly, by that damned holy book of theirs...the Old and then the New Testicles. For Christianity to have any validity a certain grudging respect has to be paid the Jews who gave them their Christ after all...AND his mother...AND his father...AND his siblings...AND his teachers...AND his neighbors...AND his customers...AND his disciples, hell...Jesus didn't know a single Christian and he'd spit on the ones around today. You can't much have a "New" Testicle if there isn't an "Old" one...just the titles give an indication of how inextricably they're bound up in each other.

When Jews describe Assyrians as bloodthirsty beasts, they're making Christian hearts glad as well...especially those black little hearts belonging to our own Christians. In order for Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Jacob and the rest of that tribe to keep their lustre...something equally dear to Christians as to Jews...the Assyrians and others of BetNahrain, inspite of their manifest wealth and complexity and refinement and decency, MUST be made to look like they were barking up the wrong tree all those millenia, you know...without Yahwe and his crapping goats...and that the fairly recent ones to wear pants or cook their meat, the Jews, were on the right track all along by "choosing" not to waste time inventing a hammer but instead coming up with morals and ethics and sliced bread good enough...nay, "Great" enough for ALL TIME.

The single thing they think of that can be held against our people was their "bloodthirstyness" and to make that claim seem at all valid there have to be great amounts of distortion thrown around, coupled with outright and outrageous lies and deceptions, helped along by a suspiciouly stupid and selective reading of history, enhanced by a huge blind eye turned towards everyone else back then with, of course, overly generous dollops of whipping cream shoved up Hebrew arse... and of course the sly and unremarked upon re-burial of thousands of cuneiform tablets suppplemented and augmented too by the indifference reflected in the continuing spectacle, much to their relief, of the supposed modern-day decsendants of the Assyrians busily and single-mindedly praying on their knees for "salvation" to THEIR Jew god.

It would be far easier to believe there was any kind of an Assyrian community in Phoenix, or anywhere else on earth for that matter, if they raised five million dollars to finance the education of a small army of ASSYRIAN Assyriologists...like Jews fund Jew Assyriologists...instead of building yet another temple to a Jew god and hiting a Jewologist of a priest to "bless us". Absent that, the idiotic charge of "typical brutality", as common a slander as you could level against anyone back then, but least of all against the people of BetNahrain...will just have to remain up there for our children to live with for as long as we have children, as the one TRUE and DEFINING characteristic of the people we dare claim descent from. Our indecency and infamy know no bounds...cause we're Christian, dontcha know.

As we can see by watching Israelis shoot children today, they only lacked the means all along...and at that they still can't get much out of those dusty sheepshit encrusted holy hills that isn't flown in or deposited from somewhere else...instead of running down to Egypt for fodder they go to Washington DC now...big difference.. If the Mesopotamians turn out to be the ones who were far superior in every way...including god-morals...and they were...then where does that leave Jews and Christians...besdies where they are today, after two blood-soaked millenia...carrying on their same old blood feud, to the death, against each other and their third sister, Islam and then the rest of humanity right up into Space and the Universe beyond and ALL of it in the name of that same blood-soaked "morality" they got from a desert cannibal already despicable 2000 years ago whom nonetheless we're supposed to follow "for etermity" till we're all blind and dead.

So... who was on the right track all along? Guess. And guess which "morality" the Roman Empire preferred... adopted and then "adapted" and proceeded to cram down the throats of everyone they could lay their hands on, making their lives truly a hell on earth so there'd be no choice but to long for something "better" through death...something you'd earn all the more if you endured "meekly" and then PREFERRED or even found "meaning" in grovelling in the dust. In what other way could you possibly get people to thank you for sending them to their "Maker"...whereas before you were just killing them outright, without any such "promise of resurrection in eternal glory"? Pisses and Farts is it any wonder we wound up being led by another Bush on fire!

That leaves us Assyrian Christians today bereft of any ONE of us to champion our cause...hence all the Finkels and Horrowitzes. A Parpola or two hardly compensates because we still come across as the most dullwitted and ungrateful people in history...to have had such antecedents...such a glorious ride through history...and to be so blase about it today you'd think we'd been lobotomized...mind-fucked if you prefer. And we have been...by Holy Roly Poly Mommy Church, her Jew God...all her Fathers, one Mother and various minor sons of bitches.

We don't have a champion as gifted and brilliant as Father Benny doing anything but wiping Christian bottoms and administering the last rites to dying old people, when he'd have made an absolutely brilliant Assyriologist and SAVED OUR CHILDREN'S PRIDE!... which, considering where we are, is tantamount to saving the children themselves. Now DON'T tell me about compassion and what do I want those old people to do.."die"? Well, they're dying anyway...why take Benny and the Heritage with them? Get Jackie to wipe ass...she's built for it and far, far more expendable. On this side of the ocean we have a Narsai David...all set and keyed to "help" the orphans of the parents he also "helped" get killed to an education....something, including a father and a mother, they never lacked until our government decided to take them away.

Modern History has been a Christian Meat Grinder for us. We're fed into one end of it and come out hamburger at the other. Our consolation prize being that as we exit all chopped and mooshed we have someone like Father Benny, so gifted it hurts to see him wasted, to administer the last rites...sing us on our way to Jew heaven...and Narsai David who'll provide one hell of a Last Supper, with plenty of wine to symbolize the plenty of blood we lost...and of course Jackie Bejan who's ready with a champagne toast, for good luck...now that we're dead and could use some...and Wilfred will write it up for ZindaLite.

And that's all we do. Naturally these people feel they're "helping" our poor Miskeeni Assyrians and, just as naturally, sooner or later we're all going to be Miskeeni...as Assyrians and not much better off as Christians. But where do these Miskeeni keep coming from...and why are they all going into a meat grinder...and who runs the meat grinder...and might not something be done about AVOIDING the grinder? Our cousins the Jews certainly did something about it. If you ask these questions in "Assyria" you'll get chased out by the one who's set his whole life to providing last rites and travels the world looking for dead or dying Assyrians to bury and calls it "working for my people", what's left of them...by the other one who's a famous cook and needs to cook some money up for "victims", or cook THEM...and the other one who wants to dress up in the latest stretch-fashions and toast the poor bastards as they tumble out. They'll tell you you're being "unrealistic"...that you're a "troublemaker"...that you have no compassion for "poor Assyrians"...that you want to "make money" because you want to raise some to raise some Assyrian pride in our children, based on something tangible for a change, fuck humanitarian "aid", when the same people who bring the band-aid drop the bomb first and fuck heaven too and a life of "eternal" infamy...and they'll all get together to save their status by running YOU out of town so the meat grinder can go on doing its job...so they can go on doing theirs.

People as focused on miskeeni victims NEED them.
