We as chaldeans need to change with the times.

Hi, Im a Chaldean American, Born in Detroit, Now living in San Diego.
My Uncle is very much in with the chaldean comunity here in San Diego, He is well respected and loved.

I have done my best to alienate myself from the comunity until recently.
I see or shall I say saw the chaldeans as a group of money hungry, selfish, decietfull people as a whole.
The women are so materialistic that it drove me for a time to pursue other cultures for a possible mate.

I do not need a girl telling me, If we get married will you buy me a Mercedez, Nothing is more of a turn off than that.

I do not need other family members Mine or others telling me, This family is this or that, or this family has drug dealers in the family or this family had a woman marry a muslim and what not.

We need to change with the times and not be so hypocritical.

When My father and I talk about this, His answer is rude and Blunt
"Who are you to change thausands of years of custom?"

Who am I?
Im an American who happens to be chadean.
I dont like to Judge people on there familys mistakes or choices.

Why cant we as a people except people without being there friends to there faces and talking trash behind there backs when they leave?

Why does this have to be part of our culture?

Any answers out there?
