May 19, 2003 - A suicide bomber attacks a shopping center in the northern Israeli town of Afula. Army Radio reports three people are killed, along with the bomber, a woman. Rescue workers say at least 15 people are wounded.

Jan. 12, 2003 - Just after nightfall, two Palestinian gunmen sneak into the town of Gadish and kill a 48-year-old Israeli man. One of the attackers is run over by an Israeli army officer, and the second is killed in a shootout.

March 12, 2002 - At least seven Israelis die and six are injured after gunmen fire from a hillside at Israeli vehicles near Kibbutz Metsuba, a communal farm close to the Israel-Lebanon border. A truck driver, two passengers in a car and a person in a third vehicle are killed in the attack.

Sept. 9, 2001 - The first Israeli-Arab suicide bomber blows himself up at a railroad station in the coastal town of Nahariya, killing three others.

April 6, 1994 - A car rigged with explosives and parked by a Palestinian next to a bus in Afula, in northern Israel, explodes, killing nine Israelis.
