Shakespeare says it all. Read him often enough and as wth Anais Nin, you'll find everything you need to know to make it through life less insane...Here's Will explaining what Bush has been up to... It comes from Henry IV Part 2, act 4, scene 5: The king, who seized the throne from Richard II and has had a troubled reign because of it, lies sick and near death and gives his sometimes wayward son, Prince Hal, some sage advice for back then...and today too... "Thou art not firm enough, since griefs are green, And all my friends, which thou must make thy friends, Have but their stings and teeth newly ta'en out; By whose fell working I was first advanced, And by whose power I well might lodge a fear To be again displaced: which to avoid, I cut them off...and had a purpose now To lead out many to the Holy Land, Lest rest and lying still might make them look Too near unto my state...Therefore, my Harry, Be it thy course to busy giddy minds With foreign quarrels; that action hence borne out May waste the memory of the former days... Next time a leader tells you we all have to shut up and defend ourselves from foreigners and enemies at home...look hard "unto the state" of the person scaring us and see what he has to gain by it. Also take a look at the laws being changed and the new ones installed, and the judges, and ask yourself what OTHER purpose those changes and the judges who'll pass on them, might serve...and again...whose state stands the greatest possibility of gaining. The supposed "benefit" to you will be illusory...the benefit to the ones making the changes will be measurable in hard, cold cash...yours. --------------------- |
